Complete Flange Type Range

Each flange type rated for specific applications and pressure requirements. We produce all standard types and custom configurations.

Blind Flanges

Solid one-piece flanges without a bore hole, used to blank off the end of piping systems. Ideal for terminal points, isolation, and dead-leg applications requiring complete closure.

Common Applications:

  • Pressure vessel connections
  • Pump and equipment discharge points
  • Isolation flanges
  • Terminal piping applications

Weld Neck Flanges

Most popular flange type featuring a long radius neck that reinforces the connection. The tapered design distributes stress more effectively than other types, making them ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature service.

Common Applications:

  • High-pressure systems
  • Elevated temperature service
  • Critical piping connections
  • ASME pressure vessel flanges

Slip-On Flanges

Flanges that slide over the pipe end and are welded both inside and outside. Lower cost than weld neck but less robust in high-stress applications. Easier to align during installation.

Common Applications:

  • Standard industrial piping
  • Low to medium pressure systems
  • General utility applications
  • Cost-sensitive projects

Threaded Flanges

Flanges with internal threads allowing connection to threaded pipe without welding. Ideal for modular installations, maintenance accessibility, and applications where welding is impractical.

Common Applications:

  • Low-pressure applications
  • Maintenance-friendly connections
  • Modular piping systems
  • Instrumentation lines

Socket Weld Flanges

Compact flanges where the pipe fits into a socket and is fillet welded. Suitable for small diameter, high-pressure applications. Reduces overall connection length compared to slip-on designs.

Common Applications:

  • High-pressure small-bore systems
  • Instrumentation connections
  • Space-constrained applications
  • Compact manifold designs

Lap Joint Flanges

Specialty flanges that work with a stub end, allowing easy removal without disturbing the pipe run. Used primarily in systems requiring frequent disconnection for maintenance or modifications.

Common Applications:

  • Frequent maintenance access
  • Changeover applications
  • Experimental or temporary systems
  • Specialized processing plants

Orifice Flanges

Specifically designed flanges with tapped holes for orifice plate installation and pressure taps. Engineered for accurate flow measurement in custody transfer and process control applications.

Common Applications:

  • Flow measurement systems
  • Custody transfer applications
  • Process control monitoring
  • Differential pressure measurement

Spectacle Blind Flanges

Innovative design combining a blind section with a ring section in a single component. Allows quick switching between full isolation and open flow without breaking the connection.

Common Applications:

  • Isolation and bypass operations
  • Maintenance and inspection shutdowns
  • Process line switching
  • Variable flow requirements

Long Weld Neck Flanges

Extended bore weld neck flanges for applications requiring longer hub engagement with the pipe. Provides additional reinforcement for extreme pressure or temperature conditions.

Common Applications:

  • Ultra-high pressure systems
  • Cryogenic service
  • Extreme temperature applications
  • Critical hydrocarbon processing

Plate Flanges

Large diameter flanges produced from flat plate stock rather than forging. Economical for large diameters and custom geometries. Custom drilling and bolt hole spacing available.

Common Applications:

  • Large diameter piping (36" to 144"+)
  • Water and wastewater systems
  • Low-pressure vessel connections
  • Custom large-bore applications

Pressure Class Specifications

Flanges available in all standard ASME B16.5 pressure classes: 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500. Pressure-temperature ratings depend on both class and material group per ASME B16.5 Table 2.

Pressure ClassTypical Applications
Class 150Low-pressure systems, utility service
Class 300Industrial piping, general process systems
Class 400Intermediate pressure applications
Class 600High-pressure applications, elevated temperature
Class 900Very high pressure, extreme temperature
Class 1500Ultra-high pressure, critical applications
Class 2500Maximum pressure systems, specialized applications

For material-specific pressure-temperature ratings, refer to ASME B16.5 Table 2 (Group 1.1 for A105 carbon steel; Group 2.2/2.3 for F304/F316 stainless; Group 1.9/1.10 for chrome-moly alloys). Call (281) 484-8325 for project-specific verification.
